Last week I had the honour of running a final Yeud Seminar, (leadership and vision-building retreat) for the Federal Mazkirut, the national leadership team of Habonim Dror Australia.

I have many mixed emotions as we move toward wrapping up our time here in Melbourne before heading home, but I finished the week feeling inspired and rejuvenated.

After days discussing the true meaning of equality, the demands of democracy and how to educate towards peace and hope for Israel and the planet, I have nothing but confidence in the future of HDOZ.

In a world of post-truth and fake news, where being viral trumps being real, it is so important that Habo, and youth movements like it around the world, keep insisting that meaning matters. Habo helps young people see that our choices in life, our relationships and the actions we take have meaning. This purpose gives direction. This is the youth movement's greatest gift.
